What is a baker’s cyst

( A  -filled swelling at the back of the knee (popliteal area

Often associated with knee joint conditions like arthritis or meniscal tears-

Symptoms

.Swelling behind the knee-

.Pain, especially when extending or bending the knee-

. stiffness and restricted movement-

. Occasionally ,swelling may spread to the calf-

.in severe cases, the cyst can rupture ,leading to sharp pain and swelling in the leg - 

? Causes of Baker's Cyst

; Knee joint inflammation-

.Conditions like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis increase fluid production in the knee joint

;Meniscal tears-

. njuries to the knee cartilage can cause excess fluid,leading to a cyst

;knee injuries-

.Trauma to the knee may result in the formation of a cyst

; Treatment

. Rest and ice :to reduce swelling and pain *

. Medication: Ant-inflammatory drugs to manage symptoms*

. Aspiration:draining the fluid from the cyst with a needlet *

. physical therapy: strengthening exercises to improve joint function and reduce fluid buildup*

. surgery : In persistent cases, removing the cyst may be necessary,especially if it ruptures or causes ongoing issues*
